Washington State Implements Strict Silica Dust Laws

Dust from concrete drilling contains silica. The "new asbestos" is referred to as respirable silica. Beginning in October 2018, contractors must use a highly specific set of tools, vacuums, and accessories to prevent airborne silica dust. Sound Seismic complies with regulations in full. Your house will be cleaner as a result, and your family will be safer.

By putting HEPA filters in their Home Depot shop vacs, some contractors assert that they are in compliance. NOT SO! The law mandates fully sealed HEPA vacuum systems with automatic filter cleaning mechanisms, as well as specialized shrouds and drill bits to capture dust before it gets airborne.

Sound Seismic made a significant investment in the most cutting-edge dust collection devices from BOSCH. Because of the possibility of long-term exposure, rules are established to safeguard workers, but our safer practices will also benefit you and your family.
